Jewelry For The Fickle. Flip Flop Necklaces by 100% GUMDROP.

They're cheeky, and yes, they're a little cheap looking, but they are fun. Flip flop necklaces are jewelry that gives you the option to change your mood (or to say one thing when you are really thinking another) with the twist of a chain.

Made for both children and adults, the gold-plated stainless steel and sterling silver necklaces have two words mounted on opposite sides of one chain with the clasp and hangtag in between them:

Words range in width, measuring roughly 3/4" each. All word and chain measurements are approximate and come in small (14") or large (16").

A collection of fine jewelry by 26 international artists, the pendants, neckpieces, earrings, rings, objects, chains and more are really wearable sculpture rather than simply ornamentation for the body.

As they describe the 2010 Beauty and The Best collection on their site:
Klimt02 presents a selection of essential and benchmark jewels in contemporary jewellery. We wish to give you the chance as receivers to feel the emotion involved in appreciating a work of art, thus completing the artistic act.

These jewels incorporate different levels of language: tradition, innovation, history, present, words, sounds, notes, gaps, orbits and connections… as an exquisite way of discovering and understanding reality. These jewels deserve our attention: something is happening.

We are not striving for any kind of originality, trend or discovery but rather we simply wish to state that every single piece in the collection involves a high degree of creation with which we wish to address you as receivers of the message. We offer receivers and request of them the possibility of exercising choice, their selective affinity.

These pieces tell us how we understand things today. This is their contemporary nature. The creator, the artist or the jeweller is a catalyser of our reality.

Beauty is something more than ornamental; in this case it is the coming together of what is good, well made and essential. The Best, for us and now for you as well, is the selection of jewels on the basis of which to start to think and feel the best.

Boucheron Celebrates 150 Years With Some Serious Goodies

2008 marks the 150th anniversary of the Parisian jeweler, The House of Boucheron, and to celebrate they have created many unusual, special and limited edition items. Here are just a few.

Above: The Reflet XL Limited Edition Watch:
"Our 150th anniversary has been the opportunity to revisit the Reflet watch, which rose to fame thanks to a system of interchangeable bracelets for which Boucheron filed the first patent in 1947. The limited-edition Reflet XL is intended for men of sophisticated taste who appreciate beauty, and for collectors. It revisits a modern classic with its imposing 45mm case, the largest Boucheron has ever made, and the unique oscillating weight by Girard-Perregaux."--- Boucheron CEO, Jean-Christophe Bédos,

According to Boucheron CEO, Jean-Christophe Bédos, they "decided to celebrate this anniversary with Boucheron Enchanteur, a collection of Fine Jewellery that is a hymn to 150 years of history, expertise, sensuality and daring. This collection, which took over 12,000 hours to complete, is the quintessence of the talent and skill of Boucheron’s artisan-jewellers. Inspired by our seven founding values, it is a collection of seven parures on the themes of daring, magic, sensuality, mystery, danger, curiosity and gourmandise. After being presented in Paris, this Fine Jewellery collection will travel the world, visiting Moscow, Tokyo, Hong Kong, the Côte d’Azur, London and Dubai."

The pieces are show below, in sketch form on the left and final form on the right:

To commemorate the occasion, there's even a chocolate snake necklace topped off with a 20.08 carat fancy brown tinted yellow diamond.

A collaboration with Parisian Chocolatier La Maison du Chocolat yielded this necklace that plays with Boucheron's commonly used snake motif. The necklace is coated and decorated with real chocolate which covers the chocolate gold skeleton.
